What the youths are praying for this Lent

For ourselves and for the people who are lost in faith

By Elizabeth Togot

As we know now, there are lots of people who are drawing further from You, Lord. We are living in a world that has lots of other commitments and does not put You first in our list of priorities. Help us not to be the weeds in Your garden. Instead, lead us closer to You and give us the wisdom to make choices that will please You and glorify Your name. As for the ones who have lost their way to You Lord, show Your mercy upon them. We pray that they will eventually find their way to realise the importance of Your words and presence as the priority in their life and that they will walk in the right path of faith.

For this pandemic & the frontliners

By Anne Tan

Dear God, today we pray for this pandemic and everyone, including the frontliners. Indeed this pandemic is tough but above all, You are always bigger than every giant that we face, God. God please continue to always help us to seek You first and to always trust You. May there be a breakthrough in this pandemic, protect us God with Your precious Blood. God, we pray for the frontliners that You will always fill their hearts with peace instead of anxiety, faith over fear. Please also protect them with Your precious Blood, God. Help us to grow closer and closer to You each and every day. All these prayers we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Obedience to seek God’s will

By Ann Marie

Christ Jesus, just as You obediently seek Your Father’s will, even to the extent of accepting death on the cross, teach us too, to be like You. Whether we are to go through trials, hardships, and adversities, help us to trust that Your plans are better, higher and greater than our best plans, thoughts and wishes. With this, we want to fully surrender our lives in Your hands, trusting that You know what is best for us. For You said that You have plans to prosper us, and not to harm us. A plan to give us hope and a future. Because of Your goodness Lord, and because of Your death on the cross, You have made all things possible for us, and You said that even if the weapon of evil is formed against us, it will not triumph, because You will triumph over it as You have overcome death. Hence, we humbly seek Your presence Lord, to calm us in the midst of our challenges, and to acknowledge that You already have a plan for us, and all we have to do is to be obedient and be faithful to Your will, as You are faithful to Your Father’s. Amen.
