What is L.O.V.E?

Group discussion about the meaning of love

KUCHING — Love took the spotlight at our recent Youth Gathering on 2 February where we dived into the intriguing theme, “What is L.O.V.E?” Aligned with the Valentine’s Day vibe, our dynamic speakers, Ralph and Claudia, kicked off the event with a fun ‘Would You Rather?’ quiz, setting the stage for a lively discussion.

Ralph and Claudia divided the attendees into two groups based on gender, creating a comfortable space for an open chat about what love really means, the secrets to long-lasting relationships, and the pitfalls that can lead to their end. They then introduced the acronym ‘L.O.V.E,’ breaking it down into Listen (with eyes and heart), Open (be real with each other), Verify (don’t assume, check in), and Encourage (lift each other).

The gathering hit its peak as Ralph and Claudia wrapped up with a deep dive into love from the Gospel standpoint, sharing an impactful Bible verse, in John 15:13. This verse became a guiding beacon, emphasising the selfless nature of love. Wrapping it up, the speakers gracefully tackled questions from the crowd, creating an atmosphere of understanding and connection that made the Youth Gathering an unforgettable and enlightening experience for all in attendance.
