KUCHING — The Movement Control Order (MCO) imposed by the government to control the spread of COVID-19, has provided a much needed respite for some people to reflect on their lives, to restore or transform themselves, or to explore ways to be productive.

A group of young singers, through the sombre reality of not being able to sing at their usual Sunday Morning Mass during this lockdown, decided to be innovative.

They gathered their choir members currently located in different parts of the world to an online recording of a song for their local church.

The Blessed Sacrament Church (BSC) English Morning Mass Choir wish to dedicate this song to all parishioners as an Easter greeting to all.

The Power of Your Love

This video was recorded by the choir members on location in Kuching, Miri, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, United Kingdom and Canada.

Meanwhile, St Joseph’s Private School Chamber Choir / Christmas Charity Chorale Concert Choir also created a song of praise and thanksgiving to God Almighty to express their “solidarity to the victims and loved ones, those affected and those who contribute by sacrificing their thoughts, energy, resources and time, some as far as risking their personal health to fight the war against this worrying COVID-19 pandemic,” said Benedict JC Lo, who conducted, mixed and edited the song composed by John Rutter.

For the Beauty of the Earth

We may not know how long we have to stay on lockdown, but we do know that we have to practice social distancing, stay strong and stay at home to stay safe. Trust in the Lord for there is no greater love than God’s Love!
