SIBU — About 100 women attended the 10th Christian Women Conference held at Catholic High School, Sibu last 16 September. The conference was organised by the Couples for Christ (CFC) Sibu – ‘Handmaids of the Lord’(HOLD).
Themed “God’s Beloved”, the one-day conference conducted in English and Mandarin was to help women enter into a deeper relationship with God.
The conference consisted of five talks, namely ‘Quiet My Soul, O Lord’, ‘Lord that I may See’, ‘In Your Presence, Lord’, ‘At the Foot of the Cross’, and ‘God’s Beloved’. In the ‘Beloved Walks’ event, the women dressed up in different costumes to represent different women from all walks of life around the world. The conference also portrayed the seven sorrows of Mary through a 30-minute sketch.
Couples of Christ (CFC) is a Catholic movement intended for the renewal and strengthening of Christian family life. HOLD is one of the five family ministries of CFC. It is a Christian renewal and support ministry for mature women, regardless of status or situation, aged 41 and above.
Some testified how CFC had changed their lives and the lives of their families during the conference.
