Once again for Catholics, we are beginning the season of Lent. The word LENT means SPRING in old English. The season of Lent coincides with spring, when a farmer prepares the ground and crop for planting. In our Church, Lent is the traditional 40-days of fasting, penance and good works.

As a priest, I accompanied our youth in 1997 to the WYD Paris, WYD Cologne 2005, and WYD Sydney 2008. I would stay in the same parish with our Malaysian youth.

KUCHING — On 12 January 2019, Archbishop Simon Poh presided over the Kuching Archdiocese’s Red Mass at the Blessed Sacrament Church in BDC.

KUCHING — A Joint Service was held on 20 December at the Christian Ecumenical Worship Centre to celebrate Christmas with hymns and prayers for peace in the world and the nation, for reconciliation, for the poor, destitute, refugees, migrants, and for families.

KUCHING — "On the 8th day of December, Kuching gave to me … the 12th Christmas Parade."
