KUCHING — Many parish activities had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As with other churches, Blessed Sacrament Church finally received the green light to allow Sunday School students who had prepared for their first Holy Communion to receive the sacrament of the Eucharist.

At a special Mass on 11 October 2020, about 80 people congregated for the First Holy Communion of 19 students, which also saw four (4) candidates receiving the Sacrament of Baptism from Fr Patrick Heng, the Church Rector.

Those who attended included Sunday School faith formatters, godparents and parents of the candidates. Abiding by the SOP for church activities, only students above the age of 12 years were allowed to participate.

The ceremony was organised by the Bible and Faith Formation Committee (BFFC) Sunday School English session, and all Mass readings and Baptismal rites were projected so everyone could follow the celebration proceedings.
