KUCHING — More than a hundred Sunday School students and their parents led by their Rector, Fr. Patrick Heng, set out on 17 March 2019 to the Catholic Memorial Pilgrimage Centre, Mt. Singai.

This was part of Holy Trinity Church Faith Formation Committee’s Lenten activities and session outside the classrooms.

The students and their parents patiently meandered their way up the belian staircase, up the sacred mountain, pausing at each of the fourteen (14) Stations of the Cross to pray. Prayers at every station were led by a student from each class.

The Stations of the Cross were constructed based on Laudato Si, the 2nd Encyclical by His Holiness Pope Francis, calling on the Church and the World to acknowledge the urgency of our environmental challenges, and to shape the future of our planet.

Some parents gave very positive feedback that activities like this, promote great interest in faith education.
