KUCHING — On Sunday, 17 July, two young impressionable men joined St Peter’s Youth. They had both flown in from Africa to assist Fr Francis Teo to talk to the youths about their mission in Turkana. A short introductory video was shown followed by a very informative Q & A session. The two assistants, 19 year old Inigo Yung and 23 year old Brian Werunga, shared their experience in Africa. Inigo himself is from Sarawak and have spent over a year and a half in Africa. When asked by the youths what he missed most in Malaysia, he answered. “Family, Kolo Mee and Laksa.”

Africa is now facing one of its worst droughts in over 50 years with an estimated 10 million people being affected. Thanks to the efforts of MCSPA (Missionary Community of Saint Paul the Apostle), Turkana has fared better than most parts of East Africa.
