BATU KAWA — To mark the official fundraising launch for its New Building Development Fund, Fr Felix Au, the Rector of St Mark’s Catholic Church, Batu Kawa unveiled the Pledge Banner at the Sunset Mass on 4 February 2023.
St Mark has embarked on a 4-Phase plan to build a parish that comprises:
1. Construction of a parish office and rectory for priests who will be serving and living at St Mark.
2. New four-and-a-half storey classroom block for meetings and Sunday School.
3. Multipurpose and activity hall.
4. Extension of the existing Church for worship.
Pledge Contribution Cards and Jogathon/Charity Run Cards were distributed at all the Masses over the 4-5 February weekend. St Mark’s pledge card is in the form of monthly contributions over a 3-year period.
A fundraising dinner will be held on 15 April 2023 at the Christian Ecumenical Worship Centre (CEWC). The Charity Run is scheduled for 1 May (Labour Day). There will also be a St Mark’s Fiesta Sale.
The parish expansion plan is estimated to cost RM20,000,000 for all the four phases.
Fr Felix has called on his parish councillors and community to involve themselves in the fundraising to make this dream come true for both theirs, and their children’s benefits.
