BINTULU — The combined Graduation Ceremony of Tadika St Anthony (Bintulu Town) and Tadika Santa Maria (Sg Plan) took place on 4 January 2025.

Laughter and excitement filled the halls of Dinner World Restaurant, Bintulu, as families gathered to celebrate the joyous milestone in the lives of the young learners, symbolising their transition from preschool to the next stage of their education.

The occasion was graced by the presence of Bishop Richard Ng, Fr John Cyril, and accompanied by the principal of SK St Anthony, En Francis Dampa.

The ceremony began with welcoming speeches delivered by the principals of Tadika Santa Maria and Tadika St Anthony. Great applause filled the hall when Hilda Cataleya and Bridgette Tomi delivered speeches in English on behalf of their fellow graduates.

Bishop Richard Ng also congratulated the teachers and students on another year of achievement, and was presented with a token of appreciation specially handcrafted by the children, a collage symbolising the potential of tiny seeds to grow into beautiful plants. These seeds represented the new beginnings for the graduates as they enter primary school in the new semester.

The graduating students presented many wonderful performances representing Sarawak’s multi-cultural society. One of the highlights was a lively musical theatre to “Ahli Nujum Pak Belalang”, which brought thunderous applause from the audience. The children’s enthusiasm was infectious and a wonderful display of their growth and development into confident children over the past two years.

A total of 138 graduates from Tadika St Anthony and 24 graduates from Tadika Santa Maria received their graduation scrolls. The smiles on their faces were priceless as they proudly held their scrolls up high for their families to see. Two students received the Anugerah Murid Cemerlang-Akademik and three students received the Anugerah Kehadiran Cemerlang from Bishop Richard.

After the ceremony, many families gathered for refreshments and shared stories about their children’s experiences at kindergarten. The graduation ceremony was more than just a celebration; it was a heartfelt recognition of children’s growth, hard work, and the support of their families and teachers.

Congratulations, graduates!
