KOTA PADAWAN — The St Ann’s Church community celebrated the Solemnity of Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, in its own way. A lucky draw on the occasion of St Ann’s Feast Day added excitement and joy to the day for the faithful.

The event started with a solemn Mass celebrated by the parish priest, Friar Don Don Romero Ramerez, OFM. In his homily, he reiterated the importance of recognising Jesus Christ as our King, a King who expects humility, service, and love from us. Hymns of praise filled the Church, expressing the community’s devotion and gratitude.

After the Eucharistic celebration, the parish’s St Anthony’s hall resonated with fellowship and festivity. The highlight of the day was the much-anticipated St Ann’s Feast Day Lucky Draw that offered a range of exciting prizes donated by parishioners and local businesses.

Participants eagerly awaited their numbers to be called, cheering for friends and family as prizes ranging from Samsung Galaxy A55 5G smartphones  to the grand prize of a Perodua Ativa car were distributed. The lucky draw served not only as an entertaining moment but also as a testament to the parish’s unity and generosity.

The grand prize winner Agnes Jews, who was surprised to be crowned, expressed: “Winning was something that I did not expect, yet attending such a kind of celebration is a true blessing. My daughter told me I might win this car. Events like these bring us together stronger as a Church family, and thank you to all Friars.”

At the end of all festivities, the congregation departed with grateful hearts to help bring the holiness of Christ’s kingship into the world. We wish to congratulate all winners, and for those who did not get a prize to try again next year. May God bless everyone.
