KUCHING — The 37 Ladies Guild members made an overland visit to West Kalimantan from 21–25 August 2024. This trip was especially special as the delegation was able to join in the double celebrations, that of the Consecration of Mary Queen of Hope Church, Bunut, Sanggau and the 25th Priestly Anniversary of Fr Richardus Riadi.

Archbishop of Kuching, Simon Poh, was among the many guests and also a concelebrant in the very meaningful and rich Catholic traditions of the consecration of a new Church.

Among the many places visited were St Fransiskus Assisi, Entikong; Holy Cross Parish, Beduai; Wisma Tabor Retreat Centre, Damai Parish Centre; Sacred Heart Cathedral, Sanggau; Mary Queen of Hope Church, Bunut; Among Villa (Uphill); Gua Maria Ratu Pencinta Damai Anjongan; Chapel of the Sower Seminary, Pontianak; a tour and tea time at Gedung Keuskupan Agung Pontianak, and lastly, a Sunday Mass at St Joseph’s Cathedral, Pontianak.

The delegates were awed by the many beautiful Churches and Cathedrals, and were overwhelmed by the warmth and gracious hosts for their hospitality. The memorable time from this outreach trip will continue to be treasured and appreciated.
