Taking place in the vicinity of Padang Merdeka, it saw Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar flag off the walk at around 7am.

Wan Junaidi and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, then joined the crowd of 5,000 for the walk.

Themed ‘Unity Is Our Calling’, the 2.4-kilometre walk was organised by the Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR).

Earlier, activities began at 6am with a zumba session followed by a prayer led by Sarawak Grand Imam Datuk Mustapha Kamal Ahmad Fauzi before the walk commenced.

The event coincides with this year’s Sarawak Day and was attended by Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, alongside religious leaders from various faiths.
