KOTA KINABALU — The Walk for Jesus, a bi-annual event organised by the Prison Fellowship Malaysia and co-organised by the Sabah Council of Churches, has through the years brought Christians from all backgrounds to walk in unity while praying for the country.

The theme for this year’s Walk is ‘Love and Mercy’, and took place simultaneously at 17 towns across Sabah on 23 August beginning at 4 pm.

The State and country are at an unprecedented time, caught in the throes of earthquakes, floods, political upheavals, erratic currency, intrusions, threats and persecutions and prayers for our state and country at cross-cultural, cross-denominational, cross-linguistic gatherings are held like never before.

With faith that God is doing something amazing in these days in our country and state, “eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love him.” (1 Cor 2:9), the participants prayerd especially for the country leaders, the law enforcement officers, the police, army, for fair and just ruling and administration, for conversion of hearts, for good education system as well as for the unity of the churches to inspire society.

Funds raised during the Walk would be channeled to support the ministerial work of the Sabah Council of Churches, the activities of the Interchurch statewide, Pastors Fellowship of Kota Kinabalu, Commission of Sabah Affairs and Prison Fellowship Malaysia (Sabah).
