KOTA PADAWAN — The Feast of the Conversion of St Paul became a moment of spiritual renewal for the readers, commentators, and choir members of St Ann’s Church, Kota Padawan. A special recollection was organised to deepen their faith and rekindle their commitment to serving in their respective ministries.
The recollection began with a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Friar Nelson Evarinus Sipalan, OFM, who inspired the participants with a meaningful homily. Reflecting on St Paul’s transformation, Friar Nelson urged the ministry members to emulate St Paul’s zeal for the Gospel and openness to God’s call.
“Like St Paul, each of you has been chosen to bring the Word of God to life in our community. Through your voices, gestures, and songs, you help others encounter Christ. Today is an opportunity to reflect on how God might be calling you to deeper conversion in your ministry,” said Friar Nelson.
The day’s programme included talks, group sharing, and guided reflections. The main speaker emphasised the importance of humility and attentiveness to the Spirit while serving. Participants were reminded that their roles are not merely tasks but acts of worship and evangelisation.
The readers and commentators focussed on how to proclaim the Word of God with clarity and reverence, while the choir explored how music elevates the liturgy and touches hearts. The sessions fostered collaboration and understanding, with participants exchanging insights and learning from one another.
The recollection ended with questionnaire session and a special prayer of recommitment. This recollection served as a fitting tribute to the Feast of the Conversion of St Paul the Apostle, reminding all attendees that transformation and mission begin with an open heart and a willing spirit. May their service continue to inspire and bring others closer to God.
