Pontifical Mission Societies for Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei meet in Sandakan

KUCHING The diocesan directors for the Pontifical Mission Societies for Malaysia-Singapore-Brunei held their annual meeting from 12-14 June 2023 in Sandakan, Sabah.

The meeting was chaired by Rev Fr Victor Louis, the National Director for the Pontifical Mission Societies for Malaysia-Singapore-Brunei. Kuching Archbishop Simon Poh who is the Episcopal President for New Evangelisation, was also present at the meeting.

Among the matters discussed, were the mission animation report for 2022 from each diocese, mission animation for the upcoming World Mission Sunday which falls on 22 October 2023, and the subsidies provided for 2022 for this region.

There was also an orientation programme for the diocesan directors on the statutes and dealings pertaining to the PMS as there were several new diocesan directors joining the meeting for the first time. 

The next meeting will be held in June 2024, with the Diocese of Miri as the host.
