KUCHING — The Covid-19 pandemic had derailed the installation of Parish Pastoral Councils (PPC) in parishes in the Archdiocese of Kuching, after they were appointed last year to hold office for the 2021-2024 term.

Archbishop Simon Poh kept his appointment with the parish councillors of Blessed Sacrament Church (BSC), at the sunset Mass on the Solemnity of The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ – Corpus Christi, on 18 June 2022, also the Feast Day of Blessed Sacrament Church.

In his opening address, Archbishop Simon Poh said the Latin words “Corpus Christi” mean “The Body of Christ”. Catholics can link this to the Blessed Sacrament in Holy Communion.

The appointment of the following PPC for 2021-2024, took place at an online meeting on 5 September 2021:

President: Rev Fr Patrick Heng
Chairperson: Pauline Lim
Vice Chairperson: Dr Bernard anak Stephen Jussem
Secretary: Joyce Ting
Asst Secretary: Clement Sii
Treasurer: Julian Chan
Asst Treasurer: Maria Lated

PPC Members:
Anthony Then
Christina Eng
Cornelius Liu
Doreen Wee
James Bilong
John Liew

Archbishop Simon presented the parish councillors to the community and said they needed the community’s support. Likewise, the councillors are to be faithful to their commitment to the council and parish, and to serve God by serving the community.

Chairperson Pauline Lim led her councillors in their pledge before the Archbishop and Parish Rector, Fr Patrick Heng.
