NFASM recollection, seminar and biennial general meeting 2011

KUCHING — A Recollection, Seminar and 14th BGM of NFASM (Natural Fertility Awareness Service) was held at Telang Usan Hotel from 26 – 27 November. A total of 75 delegates from throughout the nation attended the Seminar & BGM.

The theme of the Seminar is “You are the Salt of the earth… You are the Light of the world” (Mt 5:13-14). The Recollection was conducted by Fr Terry Burke. NFASM Spiritual Advisor Fr Joseph Chai gave a session on “Church teaching on the regulation of birth”. The Seminar was conducted to update the scientific knowledge of Billings Ovulation Method (BOM) Teachers. Case studies of real life charts of BOM users who had some disorders were presented by NFASM President Dr Chan Lek Lim. Dr Elizabeth Eu, a gynaecologist from Normah Medical Centre presented a talk on “Common Fertility Problems”.

At the BGM held on 27 November, the following office bearers were re-elected for the term 2011-2013:

Committee Members: Michael Junim (Kuching), Gertrude Kho (Sibu), Dorothy Adrian (Bintulu), Dr Leong Mui Ling (Miri), Angeline Chin (Kota Kinabalu), Steven Vanathya (Kuala Lumpur), Santhanamary (Penang), Jessica Tan (Melaka), Andrew Chew (Johor), Catherine Ambrose (Sitiawan).

The Seminar/BGM is held once in every two years. The office-bearers were re-elected for another two years term as the 2013 International Billings Conference is scheduled to be held in Kuching in April 2013.

A post Conference tour of Mujat longhouse at Bunan Gega and St Theresa’s Church, Serian was also organized for the delegates.
