SRI AMAN — On 6 and 7 July 2024, Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish in Sri Aman hosted the Marriage Preparation Course 2/2024. This course was designed to provide couples with essential knowledge and spiritual guidance for their forthcoming marriages.
Day 1:
The first day commenced with an introduction and opening prayer by Colin Anak Robert Lanuk. Following this, Fr Joseph Chai led a comprehensive session on the sacred covenant of marriage, emphasising its spiritual and religious significance. Joshua Martin then delivered a detailed presentation on the legal and cultural aspects of marriage in Malaysia, outlining critical guidelines for couples. This was followed by a session on family planning, conducted by Rita Rosly and Rosnie (KKM), who offered valuable insights and advice.
Fr Henry Jimbey presented a session on the laws according to Catholic teachings, providing essential information for couples. Catechist Grace then spoke on maintaining spiritual well-being within a marriage, highlighting the importance of faith and prayer. Colin then concluded the day with a focus on the spiritual development of the family.
During the lunch break on the first day, participants celebrated the birthday of Fr Joseph Chai, adding a festive touch to the event.
Day 2:
The second day featured a session by Catechist Grace on using the Bible as a guide for family life, offering scriptural insights and practical applications for nurturing a Christian family.
The Marriage Preparation Course 2/2024 was a resounding success, equipping couples with the knowledge, spiritual enrichment, and practical tools necessary to build strong and holy marriages.
