KUCHING — The Sunday School (English & Chinese) of Blessed Sacrament Church organised their annual Lenten pilgrimage to the Catholic Memorial and Pilgrimage Centre (CMPC), Mt Singai in Bau on 23 March 2019.
A total of two hundred and seventy (270) pilgrims, comprising mostly students and their families and BSC catechists, made the journey to renew and deepen their faith.
The flock was divided into groups of twenty to twenty five when ascending to the top. Led by at least two faith facilitators in each group, the faithful re-enacted the Stations of the Cross.
One can feel the somber atmosphere as the faithful solemnly followed the road to Calvary. Candles were lit as the pilgrims recalled the sufferings of Christ.
After the Stations of the Cross they headed to the Church of Christ the King, for the 10.30 am joint English and Chinese Mass celebrated by Fr Felix Au, the Rector of Blessed Sacrament Church.
After Mass, they proceeded for lunch, catered for the majority of the pilgrims. Some brought their own meals.
Fr Felix thanked everyone for making the Lenten pilgrimage, and the organisers for their effort and time to organise the event.
He was presented tokens of appreciation by catechists from the English and Chinese Sunday School.
