KOTA KINABALU — MORE than 500 participants from various communities of Holy Family Telipok, Church of Divine Mercy, Good Shepherd Manggatal and St Catherine Inanam attended a half-day seminar on the “roles of the various church communities” on the 13 August 2022.
Amongst the communities attending the seminar were members of the Pastoral Council, Catechists, Extraordinary Communion Minister, Catechetical, CFC, Divine Mercy, Liturgy, Lectors and Basic Christian Communities.
Prior to the full briefing on the roles of the various Church Communities, Fr Sylvester Wong invites all participants to view a short video entitled “Our Church Journey 1857 – 2022” so that the participants would appreciate the roles played by the early missionaries who faithfully served the congregation until the first mission church was established in Labuan on the 16 April 1857.
The establishment of the first Mission in Labuan was the stepping stone for the church to expand to the various districts in Sabah, which is still growing till today.
