KOTA SENTOSA — Parishioners attending the Sacred Heart Church’s Sunset Mass on 6 November witnessed the installation of the new parish Rector, Fr Felix Au, by Kuching Archbishop Simon Poh.

Fr Felix has recently returned from his studies in Taiwan, and his appointment is effective 1 November 2021. His new parish community includes St Mark’s Church, Batu Kawa which has been placed under the pastoral care of Sacred Heart Church, Kota Sentosa.

Archbishop Simon Poh presided over the multi-lingual Holy Mass which was concelebrated by Fr Felix Au, and Fr Lucas Ng from the Congregation of the Disciples of the Lord (CDD), based in Sacred Heart Church.

Preceding the Mass, Archbishop Simon introduced Fr Felix as the new Pastor to the Sacred Heart Church Parish Pastoral Council, and the committee from St Mark’s Church who were also present.

Fr Felix then made his pledge “to seek your counsel, guidance, and advice in the spiritual and temporal care of my pastorate” to his new pastoral councillors who acknowledged him with a bow.

The new Rector in his speech in Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin and English, thanked Fr Stephen Chin and Fr John Chong for all they had done in building up the parish community as past rectors of Sacred Heart Church.

Fr Felix Au was the previous Rector of Blessed Sacrament Church before going on study leave in 2020.
