KUCHING — For many participants at the Life in the Spirit Seminar (LSS) organised by Emmaus Servant Community from 5 – 7 April 2019, it was a life changing experience.
About one hundred and forty (140) people registered. Among the participants were fourth form students from BSC Sunday school preparing for the sacrament of Confirmation, and from RCIA, preparing for the sacrament of Baptism.
Held at the BSC hall, the seminar differed slightly from the norm and received very positive feedback. There was an abundant outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
Besides being touched and healed by God’s love, some participants also received the gift of speaking in tongues.
Several of the youths when interviewed, said they came with apprehension in their hearts, not knowing what to expect.
However, they were amazed at the feelings of peace, joy, charity, and forgiveness they experienced when they surrendered themselves to God. Those who felt unloved, were able to feel Jesus’ embrace, and His love for them.
To prepare the participants to receive inner healing and baptism of the Holy Spirit, they were advised to attend counselling and go for confession prior to the sessions.
As a follow up after the seminar, participants were encouraged to return for special classes aimed at ‘holding their hands’ in their journey of faith.
The first session was held on 11 April, and was geared towards what participants think Jesus is saying to them, and what they really want or seek from the Lord. More sessions have been scheduled.
