KUCHING — The EMPOWERED Ministry celebrated the new year with a Community Mass on 17 January at the Day Chapel along with family members and friends.
Fr Stanley Goh, SJ was invited to preside the Mass and he shared a meaningful message in his homily on the importance of community for our faith, highlighting the Gospel message for the day of the story of the four friends who helped lower their paralytic friend through the rooftop to be healed by Jesus.
After the Mass, Ralph shared on where God is leading the Ministry to this year, particularly on accompanying young people, and that the leaders are being formed with help from friends in the Society of Jesus on accompaniment.
He also announced that Fr Davie Entalai from the Cathedral Parish is appointed as the Spiritual Advisor of the Ministry and that the Ministry will be sending leaders as participants and helpers in the inaugural Malaysian Catholic Youth Day (MCYD) taking place in Kota Kinabalu Archdiocese from 31 March to 6 April 2025.
The evening ended with light-hearted fellowship outside the Day Chapel and simple refreshments brought by the community.
