KUCHING — In observing the Season of Lent, EMPOWERED Ministry organised several activities for the month of March for youths and members of the EMPOWERED Community leading towards the Holy Week and Easter Triduum.
The Cathedral Parish hosted a Penitential Service for the Season of Lent on Friday, 8 March and the Ministry organised a Preparation for Confession session for youths and young adults in St Thomas Room of the Parish Centre. After the session, all attendees proceeded to the Cathedral to await their turn for Confession with the array of priests who were present.
Then, on Friday, 15 March, the Ministry organised a Community Lenten Mass at St Rose Room, ACCPC for all members of the EMPOWERED Community to celebrate. Fr Galvin Ngumbang, Spiritual Advisor of EMPOWERED Ministry and a parish priest of St Joseph’s Cathedral Kuching, presided the Mass and shared a reflection on the significance of Lent during his homily. Several family members of the youths and young adults also joined in the Eucharistic celebration that evening.
