KUCHING — Young adults from EMPOWERED Ministry and Holy Spirit Parish Youth Ministry in Lundu came together to lead the Liturgy and Prayer Team for the Kuching Archdiocesan Youth Day (KAYD) 2024 from 14–16 September 2024.
Taking charge of the Team was Alexander Tai from EMPOWERED Ministry and Catechist Yohanes Pearson from Holy Spirit Parish Youth Ministry. Adding to the Team was Cinderella anak Sio, KAYD Coordinator, Fr Ramon Borja, SDB, Chairperson of the Kuching Archdiocesan Youth Commission (KAYC), and altar servers from various parishes in the Archdiocese namely Blessed Sacrament Parish, Chapel of Mother Mary Parish, Holy Spirit Parish, Holy Trinity Parish, Sacred Heart Parish, St Jude’s Parish, St Stephen’s Parish, and St Theresa’s Parish.
The Team served at KAYD 2024 through the various Eucharistic Celebrations, prayer sessions, and the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with Taizé Prayer together with the KAYD Music Team. Additionally, the Team, together the KAYD Hospitality Team, assisted invited priests for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and also leaders and members of the Holy Cross Ministry for caregiving sessions to the participants. Members of the Team also took turns to pray and adore the Blessed Sacrament at the ACCPC Chapel throughout the 3-day programme.
The Team members were blessed to have the opportunity to serve the Lord with friends from other parishes and groups through the young people coming from all over the Archdiocese. It was a meaningful opportunity for the Team to be Christ’s witnesses during this celebration.
