KUCHING — For the 77 confirmands from Blessed Sacrament Parish, the date 8 October 2023 was a date to cherish. On receiving the sacrament of Confirmation, they became “sealed with the Holy Spirit”.

Presiding over the ceremony, Kuching Archbishop Simon Poh told them that “Confirmation is God claiming ownership of you.” They now belong to Jesus for the rest of their lives.

The prelate advised them “to be faithful to Jesus” and to ask for God’s blessings. The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit they received would guide and help them along their journey in life.

To administer the sacrament of Confirmation to the 77 confirmands, Archbishop Simon was assisted by the rector of Blessed Sacrament Church, Fr Leonard Yap.
