BATU LINTANG, Kuching — Archbishop John Ha, Fr Francis Lim, SJ and Fr Larry Tan, SJ celebrated a Holy Mass at St Bede Chapel, Batu Lintang Institute of Teacher Education on 10 May.

In the homily, the Archbishop explained the concept of eternal life. He said it is a relationship with the Father as the only true God and Jesus the one whom the Father has sent to us as the Saviour. He pointed out that the concept of eternal life is not only obtained in the afterlife, but also can be experienced while still on earth.

Then, Archbishop Ha highlighted the role and mission of the students as future teachers by taking the example of St Paul’s extraordinary dedication in proclaiming the glory of God in Jerusalem by the help of the Holy Spirit. He urged the students to make a difference as Christian teachers when they get posted to different schools through example, commitment and love that Jesus taught us.

He prayed that the students will be good Christian teachers in the eyes of the society and be aware of the presence of Jesus around them.

He also thanked generous benefactors and contributors who had helped to fund the refurbishing of the chapel.

Before the Mass ended, the Archbishop blessed the students as they prepared for their upcoming final exams.

A potluck dinner at the chapel backyard followed.
