KUCHING — The Christian Family Life Ministry of Blessed Sacrament Church successfully conducted an Alpha Parenting Children Course from 2 July to 1 October 2023.
The 33 course participants included parents, grandparents, guardians as well as caregivers and teachers.
The Parenting Children Course is a series of five sessions in two parts, each designed to help any parent or carer of a child up to 10 years old.
Over the five sessions, the course has helped the participants to build strong foundations, meet the children’s needs, set clear boundaries, teach healthy relationships and consideration for their long-term aim.
Participants have also found that the session on the five love languages have been most helpful in their parenting.
One of the participants, Yuliyani said: “I have learnt more about my children’s behaviour and what they need. With better understanding, I can communicate better with them.”
The Family Life Commission will be organising the Alpha Parenting Children Course and the Alpha Parenting Teenager Course next year as well.
