KUCHING — Going along with the theme of Holy Trinity Church, Kenyalang—“The Family that prays together stays together”, the English Sunday School had their annual Easter fellowship celebrating and praising Jesus Christ, the risen Saviour on Easter Sunday at the usual class hour.
It was a gathering of families including grandparents, godparents, and guardians of the children as a show of gratitude for their guidance and support in the growing faith of the children.
The Rector, Fr Eugenio Gocela Maglasang, SDB began the fellowship with an Easter address and blessing of the array of potluck food. This was followed by presentations from the children of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Class singing “Jesus Loves Me” and the older children from Form 1 and 2 class with “Hari Ini” and “Give Thanks” to stimulate their appetites.
The getting-together to eat the different food generously prepared by each family, not only fostered togetherness but enriched relationships. In the Bible, there are many food stories about Jesus and meals enjoying eating around the tables with his followers and friends with the most poignant “The Last Supper”.
After packing sufficient energy with the delicious food, the children accompanied by some of the family members participated in the three activities organised: a treasure hunt, bucket challenge and painting Easter eggs.
