New Council for Carmelite nuns

KUCHING — On 23 May, the Carmelite nuns of the Monastery of the Immaculate Heart of Mary elected a Council for the next three years. The election was conducted by Archbishop Simon Poh at the nuns’ temporary monastery at 28 Deshon Road, Kuching.

The new council for the term 2017-2020 are made up of the following:

Prioress: Sr Marie Evelyn of the Mother of Sorrows, OCD
1st Councillor: Sr Dominica of the Blessed Trinity, OCD
2nd Councillor: Sr Margaret of St Joseph, OCD
3rd Councillor: Sr Jovita of Jesus Mary Joseph, OCD

The Council is responsible to serve and to carry out decisions made by the community.
