KUCHING — A total of 46 students from Blessed Sacrament Church (BSC) online Sunday School 2021 (English session), received their sacraments of Confirmation at the Confirmation Masses celebrated by Fr Patrick Heng on 12 and 19 December, respectively.

The confirmands, aged 16-17 years from Level 10, had to be divided into two batches of 26 and 20 students in compliance with strict pandemic SOPs.

Parish Rector, Fr Patrick Heng had been granted the faculty to administer the sacrament of Confirmation by Archbishop Simon Poh, the Ordinary Minister of Confirmation.

He reminded the confirmands that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are given to them for their whole lifetime. These gifts will help them throughout their life journeys and if they are receptive to the Holy Spirit, the gifts of Wisdom and Understanding, Judgement, Knowledge and other gifts will always be there to help and guide them. They must continue to pray to the Holy Spirit and also to pray for others in their lives. The Holy Spirit will strengthen their faith in the Lord Jesus and they will see changes in their lives. Fr Patrick advised them to always thank the Lord and to pray.

Many parents were grateful that their children managed to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, especially those students who had transferred from other parishes because of the pandemic.
