KUCHING — During the Laudato Si’ Special Anniversary Year, the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development was happy to invite all of us to join the ecumenical family in celebrating the Season of Creation, the annual celebration that takes place from 1 September, the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, to 4 October, the Feast of St Francis of Assisi.
For the 2020 Season of Creation, the suggested theme was “Jubilee for the Earth: New Rhythms, New Hope”.
On 16 September 2020 in conjunction with Malaysia Day, the Parish Youth Ministry (PYM) of St Stephen has taken initiative with their parish priest Fr Peter Liston to organise the Holy Hour. About 120 parishioners have joined this Holy Hour, with the majority being youths. Other than that it also has been live-streamed through a YouTube channel by one of the PYM members.
While following the SOP, all those who attended this Holy Hour were required to register and have their temperature taken. On behalf of PYM St Stephen, Stephanie thanked all those who helped during prayer moments. She believed that many were touched and missed the moments with God through Holy Hour especially this time of pandemic COVID-19. God is smiling while seeing us gather in prayer for Mother Nature and creation. Let us not stop serving the Lord until the day we gather in His kingdom. As God said: “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.” Amen!
