BAU — On 18 January, some 220 Sunday School teachers from various kampungs in Bau Parish attended a half-day recollection and catechetical session held at St Matthew’s Church, Sibuluh Bau.
The recollection was facilitated by the Rector of St Stephen’s Church Bau, Rev Fr Peter Liston. The theme for the recollection was “Seek, Know, Share Christ.”
He expressed his appreciation to the volunteers for their willingness to respond to this call. He said it was an opportunity for those in the catechetical ministry to be renewed in spirit and to deepen their bonds with the Lord and with one another.
Fr Peter Liston emphasised that we have to strive to authentically know Jesus, to know his message, and to know the Catholic way of life that leads to Him. He continued, “Catechism is the responsibility of the entire Christian community and it is not only the responsibility of the catechists and priests but the responsibility of all faithful people of God.”
In conclusion, he quoted from 2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” PERGILAH – KAMU DI UTUS.
The recollection concluded with a Mass celebrated by Fr Peter Liston, after which, the Sunday School teachers were invited to a simple but meaningful fellowship held at the community hall.
