KUCHING — Confirmation is the sacrament by which Catholics receive a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Through Confirmation, the Holy Spirit gives them the increased ability to practise their Catholic faith in every aspect of their lives and to witness Christ in every situation.

On Sunday, 4 August, 800 parishioners including family members witnessed the Confirmation of 64 candidates from St Peter’s Church, Padungan and Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Bintawa by Archbishop Simon Poh. The morning Mass was concelebrated by the Rector of St Peter’s Parish, Fr Vincent Chin.

The 64 candidates comprised of 40 youths from the Faith Formation for Children Sunday School, five from Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults and 19 from Our Lady Star of Sea Church, Bintawa.

Archbishop Simon Poh and Fr Vincent Chin joined in the fellowship with parents and their children after Mass to foster a closer bond with the parishioners.
