KOTA SENTOSA — The Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was celebrated by parishioners of Sacred Heart Church on 7 July with a Mass and thanksgiving dinner.
The dinner was graced by Archbishop Simon Poh and Archbishops Emeriti Dato John Ha and Dato Sri Peter Chung, at a local restaurant at Crown Square, Kuching.
Archbishop Simon Poh gave praise and thanked God at the dinner, for the untiring efforts of Fr Stephen Chin in serving the Catholic community of Kota Sentosa and the rural areas of Kuching City, Siburan, Tambirat, Asajaya, Bako, Santubong and Matang.
Fr Stephen had served as Rector of Sacred Heart Parish for the past 27 years. Archbishop Simon asked the parishioners to continue to pray for the good health of Fr Stephen Chin.
Earlier in the morning, at the Mass presided by Archbishop Simon and concelebrated by Fr Stephen Chin, eleven faithful were conferred the Sacrament of Confirmation by the Archbishop.
