LUNDU — In conjunction with the Holy Spirit Parish feast day and Pentecost Sunday on 9 June 2019, 150 faithfuls received their Sacrament of Confirmation from Kuching Archbishop Simon Poh. Concelebrating the Mass were Fr Joseph Chai, the Parish Rector, and Fr Christopher Laden.
At his homily the Archbishop reminded all the Confirmation candidates to serve selflessly for the church wherever they may be and help spread the Word of God.
The mark of the cross that they received is a confirmation that they belong permanently to Christ only, and to the Catholic Church. Their belief, faith and loyalty is to Jesus Christ.
They were also reminded that with faith and total surrender to Christ our Lord, the Holy Spirit will work wonders in whatever situation they are in.
All Catholics, especially young Catholics must be strong in their faith and belief when facing great challenges.
