KUCHING — SK St Thomas, Kuching hosted an exciting Christian Student Camp that brought faith, friendship, and fun together under one roof on 9 November 2024. The event, held on the school grounds, saw more than 100 students and teachers from SK St Mary, SK St Thomas, together with volunteers from St Joseph’s Cathedral and Borneo Evangelical Mission coming together for a weekend filled with meaningful activities and lots of laughter.
The camp theme, “THE OASIS: FINDING GOD’S PEACE IN A TROUBLED WORLD” inspired by the Gospel of John 14:27, kicked off with an energising worship session, setting a positive tone for the entire event.
Students then participated in engaging activities focussed on teamwork, leadership and faith-building. One of the highlights was a performance session organised by the volunteers from St Joseph’s Cathedral that explored Christian values through relatable and inspiring songs and sketch performances.
In between the serious moments, there was plenty of fun to be had! Outdoor games, arts and crafts, and group challenges kept everyone on their toes with happy smiles on their faces.
The weekend wasn’t just about fun, it was also a time to reflect. Many students shared how the camp helped them deepen their faith and strengthen their bonds with friends through their reflection session.
This being the first Christian Camp organised by SK St Thomas, has truly created a space where students could grow spiritually while enjoying every moment. Here’s to hoping this becomes an annual tradition!
