KUCHING — On 20 July 2024, Our Lady Queen of Virgins Junior Praesidium was given the opportunity to host the third Legion of Mary Junior Praesidia Gathering. It was held at the Archdiocesan Curia and Cathedral Pastoral Centre (ACCPC) from 8.30 am to 3.30 pm.

Five junior praesidia under Kuching Comitium were able to make time for this meaningful event. 50 participants, together with seven other tribunes and teachers-in-charge, were present. Fr Nicholas Ng, Spiritual Director of the Kuching Comitium, also paid a short visit and shared a spiritual message to all in attendance.

Then, a session was given by a former legionary, Ms Claudia, on the topic of ‘Stress’. This was to help junior members and teenagers to manage stress by applying their faith. Various thrilling and exciting games were prepared for the participants to play amongst themselves and this enabled them to build new friendships in the spirit of Mary.

After lunch, a presentation of each praesidium, in the form of video, featured their achievements throughout the year. Other than that, a special performance was led by Our Lady Queen of Virgins Praesidium members to entertain attendees by rendering a few action songs.

Prizes were given to the winning team of the games played earlier. Rosary prayer was recited by everyone and later on the participants gathered to watch a movie entitled ‘Judah go to Jerusalem’.

The gathering ended with the recitation of Catena led by Tribune Bro Michael. The aim of this gathering was to help the junior members to be more sociable and grow closer to their faith. It was a fun event for the participants to get along with each other.
