KUCHING — On 17 March, the clergy of the Archdiocese of Kuching renewed their priestly promises before Archbishop Simon Poh, rededicating themselves to the priestly ministry.

During the Chrism Mass celebrated at St Joseph’s Cathedral, Archbishop Simon Poh also blessed the three oils: Oil of the Sick, Oil of Catechumens and Oil of Chrism.

In his homily, the prelate spoke at length on what the three oils were to be used for. He also reminded the faithful to constantly pray for their priests and bishops.

Before the final dismissal, Archbishop Simon Poh handed over the three Blessed Oils to all the parish priests. This gesture of handing over the Oils is a symbol of entrusting the administration of the sacraments to the parish priests and priests of the parishes.
