SERIAN — Parishioners from St. Theresa’s Church are thankful to Member of Parliament Y.B. Dato’ Sri (Dr) Richard Riot Jaem for his recommendation to rectify the various parts of the church through the Sarawak State RTP (Rural Transformation Programme).

The rectifications will be closely monitored by the JKR officers.

The agreement for the works was signed on April 9, 2019 by the Serian RC Mission Rector Fr. Paul Herry and the contractor Ali Rahman Enterprise, witnessed by both members of the Parish Pastoral Council led by Mr. Dennis Sung and JKR officers led by Mr. Lee.

The rectification works include repairing the church sinking apron, new gate to the church entrance, re-flooring the religious articles shop, furnishing and upgrading the St. Theresa’s sign board, upgrading two toilets for Ladies Guild kitchen, painting the offices, ceiling and wall of the church hall, and upgrading the roof of priests’ car park and the passage way annex to church.

Rector Fr. Paul Herry urged all church goers to be tolerant of the inconvenience caused by the works and urged them to avoid going into the working area.
