Thanksgiving Friends of St Peter and the Institution of Acolytes, Lectors 2023

KUCHING — St Peter’s College held its annual Friends of St Peter’s Thanksgiving Mass on 7 November 2023, which also saw 14 seminarians instituted to the Ministries of Lector and Acolyte. Joining these Friends at Mass were seminarians and staff of college, members of the religious and relatives of the candidates to witness this ceremony.

The seven candidates instituted into the Ministry of Lector were Ashley Stephen Chau and Patrick Hilary a/l Sandnasamy (Penang), Joseph Wong Pak Yii (Sibu), Edward Yahan (Sandakan), Puvaneswaran Pillai a/l Karthihai (Malacca-Johore), Tan Yee Ping and Lincoln Lee Keng Chuan (Kuala Lumpur).

The seven candidates instituted into Ministry of Acolytes were Addie Frank Anak Lingge (Kuching), Anthony Robert a/l Peter and Philip a/l Asirwalam (Kuala Lumpur), Brywinedren Godon and Timothy Ivan Galisin (Keningau), Yoseph Jup Matias (Kota Kinabalu) and Joel Ruth Markus (Miri).

Bishop Julius Gitom, Bishop of Sandakan Diocese presided over the Mass. He was joined by seven concelebrating priests.

Shortly after the Mass, the newly instituted Lectors and Acolytes received their certificates from the Bishop during the fellowship dinner at the college.
