LUNDU — The big day finally arrived for some 96 candidates awaiting their Sacrament of Confirmation. Mostly secondary school students from throughout the Lundu Holy Spirit Parish, they all went through months of thorough preparations guided by the three Parish Catechists, Louis Joph, Pearson Ayung and Dominic.
Due to the big numbers, the Confirmation Confession was done separately for the Batang Kayan Zone at St Vincent Kampung Stungkor, while the Sematan Zone was at St Boniface Kampung Judin on 12 and 19 August respectively.
Archbishop Simon Poh celebrated the Confirmation Mass on Sunday 2 September at the Holy Spirit Church. He was assisted by Fr Adrian Kho the Parish Rector.
The celebration was joined by a large congregation of family members and well-wishers and there was joy throughout. The Mass ended with Archbishop’s reminder that Catholics are sealed as followers and belong to Jesus Christ for life.
