PETALING JAYA — The Holy Cross Ministry, Church of Assumption organised a “Healing Session” to help educate parishioners about how Deliverance and Healing will support a Catholic on their spiritual journey.

The guest speaker was Augustine Tan, who has been with the Holy Cross Ministry of Deliverance and Healing in Kuching for 36 years. Representatives from Assumption Church Ministries, BEC’s and parishioners attended this event. A total of 130 participants attended.

Augustine asked the participants to perform a deliverance prayer on him to prove that the Holy Spirit was in control of the event. He shared his spiritual journey and experiences of his ministry work in Kuching and how he found peace when he met the Holy Cross founder, Stephen Bong.

Augustine’s own experience in healing had a profound effect on his calling and ministry work. His childhood asthma and adult gastric-related problems ceased to exist after receiving healing. Based on the problems in our life, Deliverance and Healing is a transformational process where God uses the Holy Spirit to enrich the lives of individuals.

The gifts of the Holy Spirit are showered on an individual to mould their character to develop the Fruits of the Spirit, such as love, patience, kindness, joy, peace, goodness, self-control, humility and faithfulness to God. We must learn to yield to the Holy Spirit in order to heal and grow spiritually. Counselling must be administered as it provides a pathway to steer an individual’s faith into action through spiritual growth.

Augustine elaborated further on the three different areas of healing. They are (1) spiritual, (2) emotional/mental and (3) physical (body). By using the Holy Spirit and through the gifts of healing and miracles individuals would be healed. Healing happens in God’s time while miracles happen immediately.

Healing needs to happen so that the problem does not persist. When we need healing, God will provide it to us. Trust and believe that He will. In order to receive healing, we must ask God for forgiveness for our sins and go for confession.

During the group healing session, there were six people who received immediate healing via the gift of miracles. This included healing to their legs, hearing and healing to their bodies.

Testimonies from some participants: Susie Wong, “It was a fulfilling session, the presence of the Holy Spirit was great,” and William, Brilliant Session.”  Augustine also conducted healing via proxy—seeking healing on behalf of loved ones/friends who were unable to attend.
