SERIAN — St Theresa’s Parish altar servers organised an Altar Server Workshop for 109 participants from the different villages. The altar servers who took part in the workshop were from Riih Daso, Riih Mawang, Tangga Mawang, Tebakang Dayak, Pichin, Tangga Plaman, Reteh Mawang, Krusen, Jenan, Mawang Tahup. Also taking part were the altar servers from St Theresa Parish, Serian.
The workshop was held on 2 September 2023 at St Patrick’s Catholic Church Kampung Tangga Mawang, Serian. The speakers for the workshop were Alvenloon Aaron Maurice Jusimin, Kelvince Del David and Vincent Christopher. A Holy Mass was also celebrated by Fr Robert Jissem before ending the workshop.
The purpose of this workshop was to train the altar servers so they know about the Holy Mass and their role in the Catholic Church, especially when they are at the sanctuary with the priest. And so, this will lead the altar servers to be more responsible, disciplined and serve the Church with an open heart.
