KUCHING — As the Church celebrated the Third World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly on Sunday, 23 July, local parishes also paid tribute to grandparents and the elderly.
The theme for this year was “His mercy is from age to age,” from a passage in Luke’s Gospel (Lk 1:50). After his homily referencing mainly on the Pope’s message, Fr Leonard Yap, the rector of Blessed Sacrament Church, BDC helped the Church wardens to distribute token gifts after Mass, to grandparents and the elderly.
