KUCHING — Before morning Mass at the Holy Family Chapel on 31 May 2023, staff of the Archbishop’s Office gathered with Archbishop Simon Poh to pray the Synodal Marian Prayer to celebrate a moment of prayer in unity with the Synods of the Eastern Catholic Churches, Episcopal Conferences and Marian Shrines.
The prayer session was to celebrate the liturgical memorial of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the end of the Marian month, and to entrust to Mary, Mother of the Church, the work of the XVI (16th) Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops – who will be gathered in Rome in October 2023.
The Synodal Marian Prayer included an opening hymn dedicated to our Blessed Mother, recitation of the Rosary, litany of Loreto and a prayer entrusting to the Mother of God the Synodal path and the XVI General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops.
