KUCHING — Chapel of Mother Mary Stutong wrapped up its Holy Week celebrations for the Year 2023, bringing the Season of Lent to a close to welcome Christ our Risen Lord.
Palm Sunday
On Palm Sunday (2 April), Masses at the Chapel were celebrated in Bahasa Malaysia at 8.30 am and in English at 6.00 pm. Both Masses were celebrated by Msgr William Sabang, Rector of the Chapel.
Holy Thursday
Holy Thursday Mass was celebrated at 8.00 pm on 6 April in Bahasa Malaysia and English, followed by Adoration of the Holy Eucharist till 11.00 pm. During the Adoration, the Youth Choir from the Chapel led the Taizé.
The Mass was celebrated by Msgr William Sabang and concelebrated by Archbishop Emeritus Peter Chung and Fr Albert Jacobse MHM.
Good Friday
Good Friday Service at the Chapel was held on 7 April in Bahasa Malaysia and in English at 3.00 pm.

Holy Saturday
On Holy Saturday (8 April), Chapel of Mother Mary celebrated a combined Bahasa Malaysia and English Mass at 8.00 pm. It was celebrated by Msgr William Sabang and concelebrated by Archbishop Emeritus Peter Chung.
During the Mass, four Elects having undergone almost one year of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A) programme received the Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation and for their first time, partook in receiving Holy Communion.
Easter Sunday
On 9 April, two Easter Sunday Masses were celebrated at the Chapel at 8.30 am (Bahasa Malaysia) and 6.00 pm (English)
Msgr William Sabang celebrated the Bahasa Malaysia Mass while Fr Martin Wong celebrated the 6.00 pm Mass.
