KUCHING — For 48 students from Blessed Sacrament Church (BSC) Sunday School, the evening of 10 October 2018 will always be a memorable one. They were in the Church to receive the sacrament of Confirmation, at a special Mass celebrated by Archbishop Emeritus John Ha.
These students, comprising 23 boys and 25 girls, were from both the English and Chinese Sunday Schools.
Archbishop Emeritus John Ha, in his address, used an analogy of an electrical wire, a light bulb and a power switch to demonstrate how they must all be connected to light up the Church. Similarly, we need the Holy Spirit within us, to power us. The Church also has to work together as a Body of Christ.
To the confirmands, he told them that their confirmation would make them witnesses of Christ. They later renewed their Baptismal promises before being invited for the laying on of hand and anointing with chrism, by Archbishop Emeritus John Ha, assisted by Fr Felix Au.
As with previous Masses organised by BFFC, students filled the roles of Choir, Commentator and Readers, and presented the Offertory Gifts.
