KUCHING — To celebrate the closing of the school’s 2022 curriculum, SK Catholic English (M) Kuching organised SKCE’S GOT TALENT 2022 at the ACCPC Hall, St Joseph’s Cathedral, Kuching on 8 December 2022.

To grace the celebration were Kuching Archbishop Dr Simon Poh, and Deputy Officer of the Kuching District Education Office, Puan Huriah Yatim. Parents, teachers and school students made up the audience.

Taking part in the celebration were four other primary schools namely, SK St Teresa, SK St Mary, SK Jalan Ong Tiang Swee, and SK Combined. Being invited schools, school representatives also took part in the Invited Participant Solo Singing Category.

The participation of the invited schools was also to network among schools under the TS25 Transformation Programme.

The panel of judges for the SKCE’S GOT TALENT were experts in their own respective fields. Among them were Mrs Elizabeth Jimen (Former Head of the Music Committee), Jackson Anak Michael (JKKN Sarawak Officer), Celestine Ayie (Local Sarawak Singer) and Abang Nur Fikri Baijuri Bin Abang Shafiee (Kasuma Dance Group Dancer).

The cultural dances performed by the school dancers, pre-school students, including special performances by the teachers and judges, sape musical performance, and ngajat dance by Normaria Robin, Jamie Bong and Norzana Robin from SMK St Teresa Kuching, added a tinge of excitement and livened up the talent show.

Cikgu Silimun Buyung Anak Ullis, the headmaster of SK Catholic English, said the event was organised to present a platform to hone, as well as highlight, the talents of the students in the field of singing, playing musical instruments and modern and traditional dance.

It also allows the students to showcase their achievements in the field of creative arts, in line with the concept of Sekolahku Sejahtera.
